Welcome to Woodbury, NJ! From our website and those to which ours links, I hope you have a clear picture of what our town has to offer you. Our diverse population, architecture, and commercial district are only rivaled by our rich historical past that dates from the 17th century. A visit to our city will ensure a satisfying experience whether you are shopping, dining, visiting relatives or friends, or conducting historical research. As you can see by our web pages, there is much to enjoy.

From my own perspective, Woodbury is a very special place. I raised my children here, and I take tremendous pride in its present and future, because I believe in it. Main Street Woodbury was an outlet where I could concentrate my enthusiasm for Woodbury ultimately to make a positive difference. The fruits of my labor can be seen during several of Main Street’s events held on Broad Street, the major thoroughfare bisecting Woodbury’s commercial district. We sponsor a huge craft fair in early May with over a hundred specialty crafters from around our region. Main Street’s largest event, held the first Sunday in June, is a Block Party where 15,000 people converge to eat, play games, and socialize in a festive atmosphere. Colonial Day, held in late September, features colonial dress, reenactments, crafts and activities highlighting the city’s colonial roots. There are other important events that make our city thrive, but Main Street is much more than a festivity host.

Main Street volunteers work hard throughout the year to ensure physical improvement to our city. Streetscape projects along Broad Street have made our sidewalks look attractive and become safer through improved lighting. Façade grant projects have helped our merchants improve their storefronts and in turn, improve their marketability. Our volunteers also work hard to attract and retain businesses that best serve our community and those who choose to visit us. And they make sure people like you know we are here, open for business or pleasure!
