Local Government: A mayor and nine council members govern Woodbury.

Education: The Woodbury School District operates 3 Elementary Schools and Woodbury Jr-Sr High School, serving a total of more than 1,600 students. There is also a Catholic Grammar School (St. Patrick’s) located in the city. Gloucester County College and Rowan University are located several minutes away in Gloucester County. Rutgers University-Camden Campus and numerous colleges and universities located in Philadelphia are within easy driving distance of Woodbury.

Housing Prices: The average of residential home values sold in Woodbury was $125,000 - $350,000.

Employment: The major downtown employers in Woodbury are Underwood-Memorial Hospital, Gloucester County Times, and Gloucester County. There are numerous law offices, financial institutions, and medical practices located within the city.

Health Care Facilities: Underwood-Memorial Hospital is a modern medical facility located within the city of Woodbury. The regional Trauma Center at Cooper Hospital in Camden and West Jersey Hospital are several minutes drive away. The hospitals located in Philadelphia are easily accessible to the residents of Woodbury.

Transportation: The PATCO Hi-speed line to center city Philadelphia is a short commute from Woodbury. New Jersey Transit provides bus service linking downtown Woodbury with South Jersey and the Greater Philadelphia area. Commercial air service via Philadelphia International Airport is 20-30 minutes away.

Media: The Woodbury area is served buy the Gloucester County Times and the Courier Post Daily newspapers as well as the Philadelphia area daily newspapers, the Inquirer and the Daily News. Comcast Cable Communications provides cable TV service to the Woodbury area, complete with production facilities for local origination programming and advertising. Broadcast TV and radio is provided by the Philadelphia market.

Financial Institutions: There are six major financial institutions in Woodbury providing banking services on a local, regional, and national level.

Recreation: Woodbury has 113 acres of parks and six playgrounds within city limits. There is a nine-hole private golf course and country club as well as several 18 hole courses in the immediate area. There is boat access to the Delaware River via the Big Timber Creek 2 miles from the center of Woodbury. The Woodbury YMCA has an indoor swimming pool, a basketball court, and weight rooms. There is also a health and fitness club in downtown Woodbury. There are roller skating facilities, bowling alleys, miniature golf courses and driving ranges in the surrounding area.

Religion: Woodbury is home to twenty-six different denominational houses of worship.

Libraries: The Woodbury Library provides library services free of charge to Woodbury residents in a modern facility opened in the fall of 1997. The Gloucester County Historical Society Library is also located in downtown Woodbury.
